Texas Peace Officers Memorial Ride

The 2021 Texas Peace Officers Memorial Ride has been postponed

 

We hope that everyone is staying healthy and safe during these unprecedented times. Unfortunately, we have lost many Brothers and Sisters in Law Enforcement thus far in 2020. The Texas Peace Officers Memorial Ride was created in 2013 for the purpose of honoring our Fallen Texas Officers and supporting their Families. We will never deviate from our mission. At the beginning of 2020, we found ourselves faced with a pandemic and restrictions were put in place that would not allow us to complete the 2020 ride. Approximately 10 months of planning goes into each year’s ride which includes securing logistics such as motor escorts for rider safety, meals, venues for gathering, bus transportation, clearance from the State Capitol, etc. The pandemic that began at the beginning of the year continues to affect our ability to secure the logistical resources necessary to safely carry out the 2021 ride. It is unfortunate that we have no way of knowing what, if any, resources will be available to us five months from now. The TPOMR Board of Directors met and discussed these critical issues. Members of the Board unanimously agreed to postpone the 2021 ride for lack of resources necessary to provide a safe environment for all participants. This decision was reached with great reluctance and extremely heavy hearts but the safety of all participants paramount.  

 

The Board will continue to monitor the current pandemic and restrictions. We will remain vigilant in seeking alternatives for 2021 and we welcome any ideas you may have.

 

If you have already donated and want your donations forwarded on to the Texas Concerns of Police Survivors Chapters, please let us know and we will forward the donation. TPOMR will be refunding all donations that have been made thus far for the 2021 ride if notified via email to register.tpomr@gmail.com by January 15, 2021. Any donations received via PayPal will be refunded via PayPal. Any checks that have been received will be refunded by check. If you have donated and we do not receive word from you by the January 15 deadline, your donations will be forwarded to the Texas Concerns of Police Survivors Chapters.
